NOS, NL 1, Friday June 8th. Focus in this report: The agreement on gas emmissions is not binding but there has been made progress in the promises made to Africa. Blair is given space to say: "We have recommitted ourselves to all commitments we've made in Gleneagles but the important thing is that we've set how we are going to do them." It is said that the world leaders have agreed on giving Africa much attention again at the next G8.

NOS, Thursday June 7th. Why is Angela Merkel smiling when she talks to the press when no binding agreement has been made? See how Bush is friendly waving to the press when they take pictures? There are a lot of happy faces while there is really nothing to be so proud of, "a not binding compromise" will not result in anything.

grapes

NOS, Monday June 4th. No melting ice caps and no flooding island states. No, your well deserved glass of good Italian wine is at stake when climate change is not being taken into concern. What the public is led to believe here: The G8 world leaders are the ones that can save the grape. We have to have faith. As if climate change would really be on the agenda of Bush and Poetin.
